Let ‘My life’ tidy up your digital workspace

Do you know the folder called “mess” and maybe worse “mess 2”? Are you familiar with a overloaded overcrowded desktop and lost files? I might found a better solution than “mess 123”. I call it “My life”.

Two month ago I had to restore my computer (again) and because everything was a mess. I lost very important files from my employer. Inexcusable and the worst job I ever had. Anyway I found fairly good solution and promised myself, this will never happen again.

I needed a simple backup system for my Time Machine. One folder to all my files and not one folder for one work and one for another. No. I needed a folder like the applications folder for my life with sub folders. The name came to me quite early in the process and after a couple of mind maps I realized what my life contain.

A important part of the process was the graphic design because you always waste time on reading folder names. I wanted them to have a common identity like the Adobe programs but with a more lightly look.

My life is the closest to a perfect digital workspace I ever been. If you would like to adopt my folders to your own computer or have a comment please send me an email martine@weunite.dk or leave a comment below.

I would love to share my digital workspace with you!

  • Your creativity icon is a power drill. Respect.

    • I must admit it’s a tool I use very much. My father gave me one as a birthday gift because I always borrowed his. From that day it has always meant something special. It’s kind of the same relation I got to my saw.
