My entrepreneurial workspace? – Everywhere!
Meet our newest blogger, Alexandra, a talented PR girl for MUUSE and one half of the team behind CPHBLN.
There has been a lot of discussion about what entrepreneurship is.
Sara’s written one definition I agree with, for example. I wouldn’t necessarily regard myself an entrepreneur (a discussion I’m leaving for another blogpost), but for me a straightforward explanation or definition is: Entrepreneurship is about being curious and making things happen.
Where do things happen? Everywhere, really, and most of the time where I least expect it.
When I was writing my thesis, I felt like Hege – I needed a quiet space that was dedicated to work, somewhere that had nothing to do with the rest of my life, a space I could leave behind when I needed a break and a clean divide between work and private life.
Now I feel that I’m constantly surrounded by opportunities and all I need to do is get out there (on- and offline) and grab them – or be grabbed by them:
I met my blogging partner Mette in the comment field of an ArtRebels blogpost – after half a year of brain-dating, we made it happen and came up with cphbln.net and now find ourselves having a site people actually visit and find useful.
Another example is my entrepreneurial partner in crime, my flatmates’ dog Apollo: When I walk him, I can switch off my mind, be open to new things and we frequently bump into interesting people who inspire me with what they do – he’s a truly entrepreneurial spirit in his own way, always curious to meet new people and a great pal to go for coffee with: People connect to him instantly and often all you need to get new impulses is a little talk with a stranger, a new perspective.
Blogging for We Unite is one of these new perspectives, making me look at my (entrepreneurial?) self, the projects I engage in and the people I meet with fresh eyes. I’m looking forward to sharing this experience on here – and at all the other “workspaces” where I happen to bump into likeminded people (you will recognise me by the ginger collie by my side…)

let’s make Apollo the We Unite mascot, yeah?
He would be honoured! Just afraid that despite his entrepreneurial spirit, he might not be daring enough to take it up with Perlen at WeUnite HQ…
Nice one!
