19-years-old and always been self-employed. How?

Three steps to get noticed

I’ve always been self-employed. One of the reasons is my background, as I wrote in my latest post, but I also have three steps to keep getting noticed – which is so important when you’re self employed.

Networking

Get noticed is about networking. Meet people and tell them who you are and show your talent. This can be done in 1000 of different ways.

So any suggestions? Personally I use social media to share my work but until now, the personal connections have been most successful.

Be the best

If you wanna get noticed you have to be the best. For instance it’s a great force I know how to use all programs in the Adobe suite package which means I can do everything from edit images in Photoshop, create logos in illustrator and book layout in Indesign etc.

Find something unique in your talent. I work for a little firm called CMSpartner and they don’t know anything about social media but I do, which means that I can add something unique that they can’t live without.

Keep running

This is the hardest and most important step. Networks change and programs develop so keep running. Keep networking even when you think you know the right people, who knows when the wind change? Make sure you’re always the best and never say “twenty years ago…” Time changes and so should you.
Ps. I can recommend exercise as well, it will keep your body awake.

I think the last idea is so important! So easy to get lazy and think you already know the right people, as you said.
