We’ve got a super big crush on these three smart ladies behind Ruby Cup – a startup that produces affordable menstrual cups distributed to women and girls in developing countries.
If you don’t follow the local tech news of Copenhagen, you probably wouldn’t know that these awesome ladies just scooped up a huge prize from Venture Cup – which supports new startups through contests, prize money, and mentoring.
Ruby Cup beat out tons of other great startups, and left the stage with 250.000 DKK (about $50,000) in funding.
We love the Ruby girls because of their great vision for improving the life quality of women around the world (menstruating can be very stigmatized in certain cultures; the Ruby Cup is a comfortable solution with great branding) but more so, because they’ve build partnerships with female sales agents/distributors in the countries they work in, thus improving the status of employment for women in these communities.
